Our 12th, and final, LittleBigPlanet Contraption Challenge has arrived over at the Official EU PlayStation Community. To celebrate a whole two years of contraption creating madness, we’re offering you the chance to win a 42” BRAVIA TV!

As the contraption challenges always result in utterly mad, sometimes outright bonkers creations being let loose on LittleBigPlanet; we figured that our final challenge deserves a suitably chaotic theme… In CC12 – you’ll need to create a Sackboy Exterminator.

Contraption Challenge 11 - Artillery weapon

Another day another Contraption challenge! For this challenge your goal is to destroy a target by firing, launching or throwing at it from a distance. The contraption should consist of two parts:

  • The Artillery Weapon such as a catapult or a cannon. You can make it move or keep it stationary.
  • The Projectile A rock, a bomb, an angry cat – it’s up to you!

LittleBigReviewers have a new home and a new contest!

That awesome collective of folk calling themselves the Little BIG Reviewers, and for good reason, have moved to a shiny new home on the internet, and announced their April Tales Trophy Contest.

“(A)muse, (P)amper, ®egale, (I)ntrigue and (L)ure us with your story!!

Those are some of the words that can describe what we are looking forward to this monthï’ trophy contest called: ‘April Tales’. Here, in the LittleBIGReviewers, we have non-stop and consecutive monthly trophy contests for the great members for the LittleBIGPlanet community to enter.

This month’s competition is focused towards story driven levels. Any story about adventure, aliens, dinosaurs, mutants, fairies, love, car chases and/or mysteries, that you are eager to share with other fellow Sackboys and girls, are candidates for the contest.”

Winners will get their hands on one of the LittleBigReviewers’ unique handmade trophies, a totally unique and very rare accolade indeed!

The tenth edition of the massively popular LittleBigPlanet Contraption Challenge has come to a close, and a winner has arisen from six stunning finalists.

Over 1,000 entries were submitted to create an Amphibious Vehicle which could travel across land and water, and after days of voting from the selection of six finalists, the PlayStation Forums chose a clear winner…

LittleBigPlanet Contraption Challenge 10

 LittleBigPlanet Contraption Challenge 10

The tenth LittleBigPlanet Contraption Challenge has been a massive success, bringing in over 1,000 entries looking to impress the world with their creative and unusual contraptions. This time the challenge was to create an Amphibious Vehicle which could travel across land and water, and you didn’t disappoint with your submissions, which were played over a total of 200,000 times in less than a month.
From all the entries, the PlayStation Forums team had the tough choice of picking out the six finalists and their contraptions.

LBW Create contest announces new theme for March

The LittleBigWorkshop Monthly Create contest has announced the theme for this month’s level building challenge, and that theme is ‘sports’, a theme which we’ve been told does not include bomb survival levels!

The first Contraption Challenge of 2010 will be the first challenge involving water, and is also your chance to win a PSP Go!

For this challenge you need to make a vehicle that can travel across both land and water. However, we don’t just want to see a floating car with a rocket on the back – these challenges are about creativity and originality, so we want to see vehicles using innovative methods of movement or which change and work differently when they hit the water. Think outside the box!
