Getting Started

Getting started with Create mode is is a doddle, as LittleBigPlanet guides you along every step of the way with handy tutorials. Below is a selection of these tutorials, and other nuggets of wisdom to help you along your way to becoming the greatest Creator in all of LittleBigPlanet.

First of all, you'll need to learn how to move around, and some other basics of Create mode!

Hovering

You can look down upon your vast creations by soaring through the air. Simply Press Down and you’ll begin to hover. Now you can fly up to those hard to reach parts of the landscape. Pressing Down again will turn off the hover mode, and you’ll land safely back down on your tippy toes.

Undo

You can rampage through the creative process like there’s no tomorrow safe in the knowledge that if you do make a freddy fluffy you can simply go back and correct it. Pressing Left will rewind and undo errors, Right will fast forward in case you didn’t really want to undo that error after all, and Up will pause – but no ordinary pause…Everything in the world is frozen in time except you and your fellow sack people, so you can run riot without breaking anything.

The Thermometer

The Thermometer

Although most of Newton’s laws are bent and broken in the dreamtime we call LittleBigPlanet, some can’t be fannied around with; namely the one about ‘too much stuff in one place just isn’t allowed’. See the thermometer at the side of the screen? You’ll notice the temperature rising as your creation gets bigger. It’s telling you you’re running out of space, so keep a beady on it, okay? You don’t want to pop your dream cloud, do you?

Check out this Tips and Tricks video to find out how to keep the Thermometer from overheating!
